The comic is the narrative of a fictional soldier, Private Edward Marks as he experiences real events during the war. Each issue occurs one month after the previous issue. Events depicted are sometimes famous, and sometimes personal, depicting interaction between soldiers and Vietnamese, or soldiers and their families. Some stories are typical of those in war comics of any era; others are unique to Vietnam.
